Sink Into Darkness

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.

The Begining

A lone caravan makes it’s way toward the city of Hope in hope of finding a place they can finally call home. Some say that the city of hope is the last remaining civilized society left in the world. Others say that the city is just a myth told to confer the young. In either case it seems that the only safe place in this world of death is the city of hope. In one car of the caravan a pair of brothers have stirred up trouble yet again. The brothers Diddlen Dan and the Dandy man have always been an odd pair even among this warped and disturbing world. The elder brother Dandy man always asking to barrow things and then steal them for his own while Diddlen Dan… is self explanatory. Among them in there cart is a human that is always cloaked and only speaks silent prayers to a necklace hidden around his neck. A large human with many scars and muscles and the attire of a blacksmith as that was his perfection. A man wearing heavy looking armor. An elderly women with two children one a girl with orange hair and pig tails the other a boy with scruffy brown hair. They both seem young maybe 10 to 12 years old at best their eye’s already hardened with the weight this world forces you to carry. Finally a lone elf who looks rather young and arrogant claiming to be a master swordsmen his blade an ancient heirloom of his families.

The Dandy man approaches the young elf with his trade mark phrase “Can I barrow that? I’ll give it right back.”. The elf try’s to fight it but the man was just so annoying that he let him see it if only for just a second. At that moment the caravan hit a bump and the Dandy man skillfully passes the sword off to his brother who at the moment was trying very hard to “diddle” the young girl. The bump made everyone unaware of the event except for the mysteries cloaked man. As the people in the caravan argued over who had the sword the man in heavy army was busy trying to get off of Diddlen Dan who was as per usual trying to diddle. A second bump was hit this one much more powerful then the first. In fact it wasn’t a bump at all but an explosion of green flames that destroyed the car. The wayward travels where spread out amongst the wreckage only a few of the caravans travelers survived.

It seems that they landed in the middle of a fierce battlefield. The city they had landed in was all ruble and destruction as a fierce mage battle was being fought between a skeletal figure that sat upon a throne of bones glowing in green fire and another mage that looked tired and like he had taken much damage. Around the mage where Giant rats as big as horses only they where made of bone and green flame instead of actual living organs. Next to the figure on the throne a giant canon seemed to be charging up for it’s next assault on the caravan and so the survivors took action. The cloaked man reveled a bow and danced around the battle field dodging spell bolts and rat fangs shooting off arrows at the monstrousness zombie horde. The big man in heavy army stayed out of combat every now and then sending prayers to his god in order to be rewarded with spells of healing to heal his companions. The Dandy man was forced back to protect his brother who was gravely injured from the explosion of there cart. The young elf warrior asked for his sword back so that he could help fight off the undead and the Dandyman with his brothers life at risk saw no choice but to give in and gave him back his weapon. The elf warrior fought back the rats but was soon out matched by there large size and poisons bite. The mage that had been fighting the undead before there arrival asked the group for there assistance in taking down the brute. Although the party did not yet trust this new mage when locked in the heat of battle you are not often given much choice. Teaming up with the group the mage continued to attack the undead mage with both fire and lightning while his opponent fought with darkness and poison. A large scream was heard across the battlefield at long last the canon by his side had finished charging and was ready to fire. Sensing in coming danger the Dandyman quickly cast a spell of his own making a dust cloud for him and his party to hide in. The canon fired into the smoke and missed the party. With the last of his rats destroyed the undead mage left his throne and advanced toward the party turning his staff into a large and intimidating scythe. The cloaked man fired arrows from the distance at the undead mage but to little effect. The Dandyman tried a quik flurry of stabs with his rapier seeming to only annoy the mage. The heavily armored man said a powerful prayer against the undead shouting it at the mage who seemed to explode in holy light. Now that the undead mage was weakened the worn out mage from earlier cast his final spell and a mighty ball of fire exploded the undead mage for good.

The last of Natures chosen

The undead mage had been slain and the party was free to rest in the wreckage of the city. The only surviver of the whole ordeal where the armor clad Cleric, The Dandyman and his brother, the cloaked ranger, the old women and her two children, and there new companion the mage from the burning city. The party not yet trusting each other begin to argue over what to do now the cloaked ranger not one for groups decided to head out on his own.
The ranger traveled many miles until he found and odd site in the world. A meadow of flowers not yet killed by the unyielding forests of the winter. In the middle of this field was a rather large brown bear. The creature seemed to be curled up and asleep. In the middle of the bear a man seemed to be using him as a sort of pillow. Upon his apparition even though it was silent the man was aware of his presence and awoken pointing his large staff in his direction. “Who goes there?” the man said his bear instantly changing from harmless pillow to vicious predictor. The ranger was surprised by such a fast transformation and fell back into the flowers. This caused both the man and the bear to laugh uncontrollably as he walked over to help him up.
The ranger gladly excepted this help and explained his current situation. The man and the bear decided that they would help this new comer believing that it was fate that they had met that day. The man quickly escorted the ranger to a cave where a wolf cub lay dieing. “I am currently charged in caring for this young one but am not able to heal his wounds if you would allow me to perform a ritual to bind you and this creature he may still yet be saved. Would you help?” The man looked down at the pitiful creature and excepted his offer going through with the ritual.
The ritual was a success and not only was the wolf healed but he also seemed to age and become that of a full grown wolf. The wolf now recovered jump on his partner licking his face like an excited dog greeting his master. The man with the bear stared at the two with a smile on his face knowing that he had past his first test. The ritual was not only to save the cubs life but to check if the rangers motives where pure. If he had been evil the wolf would have adopted evil as well and ripped the mans throat out. After resting up the four headed out in order to find the city of hope yet again. As they left the area of the field of flowers the flowers seemed to wilt and freeze over immediately as they left.

The day I met a necromancer

The rest of the group moved onward until they found a small village in the middle of the frozen wastes. The town looked safe enough and the party had been wary from travel and so they took this opportunity to rest and hopefully find out more information about their destination The City of Hope. The group entered the only tavern in the small village looking for drink and information. In the bar of the tavern they saw a young man sitting at a back table and a large muscular man behind the bar giving them a menacing look, a shadowed figure in the corner of the bar opposite the young man’s section and a cheerful looking halfing singing songs and serving the customers. The group enjoyed the tavern while others ventured around town looking for items and weapons but soon found them inflated to extreme proportions and their pockets rather empty. During this time the ranger and druid had made it to the town and sought refuge there as well. Another new comer entered the village that night a man that looked to be made of daggers. This man looked menacing and out for blood.

In the tavern the group met up with the new travels and decided to stay in town for a while and plan their next move. Later that night a howl was heard off in the distance and the group was soon facing down a shadowy beast of pure wrath. The shadow wolf could seem to dive through their shadows effortlessly and avoid their attacks while striking from the cover of darkness. The wolf also summoned shadow minions from the groups own shadows that would follow them where ever they went and attack just as they would attack themselves. The group fought hard with spell and sword and vanquished the shadow minions until only the shade wolf remained. The wolf had the group cornered until a small army of undead seemed to come out of nowhere and attack the shade wolf. The party was astounded that the undead where fighting there enemy but did not let their guard down for a second. Along with the aid of the undead the party took down the shade wolf and gained its bounty. After the battle a shadowed figure stepped out of the darkness the undead moving out of his way as if they were still alive and he there lord. The man reveled himself as a necromancer of these lands using his power over the undead to fight his fellow necromancers for the sake of this world. The group did not trust this man considering the evil necromancers rule this world but he proved himself trust worthy enough when he reveled his masters plans to destroy them all.

The group decided to discuss there next plan of attack away from the tavern except the ranger who decided to enjoy one of the taverns luxuries, a drow prostitute named Venittta. While in the throes of passion with his new bedmate the ranger felt a cold grip from behind him as this world slowly faded away from him. The necromancer had revealed that his master was none other than the joyful little halfing taking on the innocent disguise of a barmaid to lure travels into her web. The group decided that the best action would be to destroy the tavern and hopefully take the lich out with it. The mage they had acquired from the last town prepared a great string of fireball spells and attacked the tavern exploding it into a pile of rubble. Out of the fire came the lich her zombie concubines and the zombie bartender carrying their ranger ally. The wolf he had been taking care of was caught in the explosion and killed as a result the ranger only surviving within an inch of his life. The lich confronted her disciple warning him that in betraying her he betrayed the Blood king and would face his wrath. The necromancer responded with a a great dispel spell he had been preparing just for this betrayal. The spell severed her connections to her concubines and weakened her most powerful zombie the bartender. The lich tried in vain to summon undead but was soon denied her powers by a man that glowed with great radiant light.

The lich was defeated but her phylactery still remained and so the hero’s went in search of it using a spell to detect it within the ruins of the tavern. The group also among the destruction found a red book with a mysteries symbol carved in it. Upon inspection the book seemed to be a religious text telling of the great hero. The Blood King.
